Cohort Data

Cohort Data

A goal established during the SIP process of 2018/2019 was to collect an array of data that focused on a particular cohort year and provided a more holistic picture of a particular group of students from K/1 to grade 5/6.

Summary of Data

What do we notice?

  • No vulnerability in language development (EDI)
  • Low vulnerability in communication and general knowledge (EDI)
  • Lowest vulnerability in 2 or more areas compared to other cohorts (EDI)
  • Low vulnerability on the ELP – 12%
  • Greater achievement on FSA reading and writing then the 2017/2018 cohort

Cohort Group 2 – Kindergarten Students in 2015/2016 (EDI)

Kindergarten Students in 2015/2016 moving to Grade 1 in 2016/2017 (ELP)

Grade 3 in 2018/2019 (Grade Wide Write)

Grade 4 in 2019/2020 (FSA)

At this time the official FSA data is not available but anecdotally we are able to identify that a number of students have been assessed at the emerging level in reading and numeracy.

Summary of data

What do we notice?

  • Greater vulnerability in language development – 7% (EDI)
  • Greater vulnerability in communication and general knowledge – 8% (EDI)
  • 2nd highest vulnerability in 2 or more areas – 30% (EDI)
  • Some vulnerability in Kindergarten on the ELP – 15%
  • Continued vulnerability (Higher) in Grade 1 on the ELP – 19%
  • We wonder if there will be more vulnerability in the FSA results compared to the previous year’s cohort.
