Dear Families and Caregivers,
Our week began with amazing professional development opportunities for staff. Shelley Moore started us off on Monday with a keynote on Diversity and Inclusion in the classroom, sharing many anecdotes about creating learning and learning environments that are accessible to all students. Acknowledging the importance of diversity and inclusion was an appropriate theme this week as we celebrated Pink Shirt Day on Wednesday, February 28th. We had 2 wonderful assemblies organized by our Grade 6 students. They shared the history of Pink Shirt Day, the importance of inclusion at school and some strategies to use when children are feeling unsafe. We are so thankful for the leadership of our older GHE students!
