Happy New Year et Bonne Annee!

It has been a great start to 2018 and we are so happy to be back! There have been so many exciting things happening already. In Mrs. Parsloe and Mrs. Bowden’s classes, students have been exploring precepts inspired by the novel Wonder. Students focused on kindness and making a positive impact on the world. In Mrs. Pettingill’s class, students have begun a new theme on Names and will be exploring this theme through story. In Mrs. Harwood’s class, students continue to explore letter sounds through actions and songs. Several classes have begun an inquiry project on Housing or Transportation in Squamish. This is a project that schools throughout our School District will be participating in. We are looking forward to sharing more about the learning that will be happening through this authentic project.

Upcoming dates and important reminders

  • There will be a French Immersion Parent meeting on January 17th at 7:00 pm at the Eagle Eye Theatre. This meeting is for Kindergarten and Grade 1 families.
  • PAC meeting on January 19th
  • Kindergarten Registration on January 23rd
  • A red crazy carpet was lost this week. If you have a red crazy carpet with a different child’s name on it, please return to the school

Sliding – Unless we receive significant snowfall this weekend, the sliding hill will be closed until further notice. Please do not send sleds to school unless we get a decent amount of snow coverage over the weekend. Today we had students sliding in mud and now we have exposed rocks, concrete and ice.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Sincerely,

Mme B
