Weekly Update October 23-27

Posted on

Dear Families and Caregivers,

Another week has come to a close with incredible sunshine and warm weather! Our week began with an engaging presentation called Zero Heroes. Students learned about reducing waste and protecting the planet. Halloween is just around the corner and many classes have been preparing special Halloween projects. Mrs. Griffin’s students have been building Halloween displays with haunted houses throughout the school. Mme Dufresne’s students have been busy preparing and practicing Halloween plays and many classes visited the West Coast Railway Heritage to pick up their pumpkins.

Upcoming Events and Reminders:

BOKS – Wednesday, November 1st will be the next BOKS session. We are very fortunate to have been able to hire a coach to lead the program but we still need parent volunteers who will actively participate during the morning sessions. There will be no need to lead, just play, have fun and enjoy being physically active with our students!

Halloween – Tuesday, October 31st we will have 2 Halloween parades in the gym in the morning. Classes are signing up with their buddy classes to participate. Please remember that students are not permitted to bring any accessory that looks like a weapon. We also caution against bringing important accessories as it isn’t uncommon for things to go missing during the day. We recommend that students (especially younger ones) bring a change of clothes so they may change throughout the day. Finally, as we are in a K-6 school, sometimes our younger students become afraid, especially if students are wearing masks. If the classroom teacher has allowed masks in the classroom, students will be asked to leave their masks off when playing outside during short and long recess.

Hot Lunch– Thursday, November 2nd

Implementation Day – Friday, November 3rd is our District Implementation Day and school is not in session.

Have a wonderful weekend with family and friends.

Sincerely,

Mme B
