“Beware of Ice” and other news!

Posted on Updated on

Dear Parents,

We have had several concerns expressed about the ice around the school as it has been an unusual winter with snow and cold temperatures persisting longer than usual.  Our grounds department are doing their best to remove what ice they can from all school sites in the district.  The front of the school has had most of the ice removed.  The path from Perth has improved and will be sanded again.  The most problematic at the moment is the path from the Boulevard as the lower field is covered in  a thick layer of ice and then there is the hill to navigate.  The grounds crew is here today and will try to improve the path on the lower field from the Boulevard.  It may be inconvenient but the best option at this time is entering from the front of the school, followed by the entrance from Perth.  The forecast is for more snow this weekend and cold temperatures next week.  Please use extreme caution if you are walking around icy areas.

Thank you,

Paul Lorette – Principal

CHILDHOOD ANXIETY PRESENTATION – Wednesday, February 8th  7:00 – 8:00 pm.  Everyone is welcome to attend this free speaker series.  The presentation by Melissa Warren will discuss what is normal anxiety vs. anxiety.  Parents will learn about anxiety in children and hear Melissa give some insights on ways to support anxious children at home and in the classroom.

MISSOULA CHILDREN’S THEATRE – the PAC has organized Missoula Children’s Theatre to come and work with our students to present the show Peter and Wendy.  This is a great opportunity for students to get a taste of musical theatre!  Practice for this show will be February 27th – March 3rd with the show being on Saturday, March 4th.

The PAC is still looking for accommodations for the two actor/teachers.  They need 2 rooms (they do not need to be in the same house) for these actors. The actors are in charge of their own food and meals, they just need a place to stay for 7 nights. If anyone has a room that they would be willing to offer up for that week, we would greatly appreciate it. Please email arndrea@gmail.com if you can help out.

COMFORT KITS – information was emailed home about student comfort kits.   Ziploc bags will be sent home next week to put your child’s supplies in.

TALENT SHOW – the PAC is organizing their annual talent show for students!  Auditions will take place on March 13th & 14th at 12:05 in the music room.
