GHE PAC Speaker Series – “Childhood Anxiety”

The PAC has organized a special presentation on childhood anxiety.


Childhood Anxiety

When: Wednesday February 8th

Where: GHE Multipurpose Room

Time: Seating will open at 6:30 and the presentation will begin at 7pm – 8pm. Child minding will be provided. Everyone is welcome to this FREE speaker series.

What is normal anxiety vs. anxiety where intervention is needed? Please join us on Wednesday February 8th to listen and learn about anxiety in our children and hear Melissa Warren give some insights on ways we can support anxious children at home and in the classroom.

Melissa Warren has a Master of Arts (MA) in Counselling Psychology. She has practiced for the past 10 years with Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH), a specialized service within the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). As a mental health therapist, Melissa works with children under the age of 19 who are dealing with wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma and behaviour difficulties. She also has specialized training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to work with those who struggle with self-harm and suicidal thinking. Melissa has lived in Squamish for 3.5 years and has two wonderful children who attend GHE in the French Immersion program.
