News from the Admin Team
Happy weekend to our GHE community! We have had some feedback regarding how our school communicates with our parents. We have made some enhancements to our website this year to include more educational content and have had some positive feedback. However, we recognize that the way people interact with information on their various devices is constantly changing.
For this reason, we are going to try changing our weekly newsletter format from an attached PDF document to an email with bulleted items. The email will begin with school updates from our administration, highlights from the current week, and information about the upcoming week.
We recognize that effective communication is an important part of a successful school community and we hope these changes will better meet the needs of our students and families.
GHE Learning Showcase
This year the GHE Art Show is being expanded to include not only student Art, but also to other areas of student learning.
We have re-scheduled our Spring Learning Showcase to Wednesday May 18, 2016 from 6:30pm-8:00pm. The format for this event will be in the form of a “Gallery Walk” where families will be encouraged to walk around the entire school to see everyone’s work. Each classroom will display student work in the hallway. Some class will be showcasing their favorite Art project while some classes may choose to showcase a project, or both. Some of our Grade 5 & 6 students will be showcasing their yearlong Passion Projects throughout the school and part of their project will be to answer the questions: What are you learning? How is it going? and where to next with your learning?
We look forward to seeing you there!
STUDENT ELECTRONIC DEVICES
This is to let all parents know that students are not permitted to use electronic devices such as phones at school, unless they have permission from their teacher and the use is related to their learning in their classroom.
