School Start Up

Dear Families,

It is that time where we are all looking ahead to the start of a new school year.  Our school is anticipating significant growth this year, growing from 335 students to 400 students.  If you are new to our neighborhood and are considering enrolling at Garibaldi Highlands, please contact us at the school, beginning the week of  Monday, August 24.

Playground Update:

The school has been informed that the playground reconstruction should be completed by the end of September.  This is later than what we were hoping for and so staff will be planning alternative locations for Kindergarten and grade 1 outdoor play areas during this time.

Kindergarten Startup

Parents will be contacted in the next couple of weeks to arrange for an appointment to meet with Kindergarten teachers during the week of September 8.  Kindergarten children will have a gradual entry into school and will attend for one half day on September 14, and one half day on Sept 15.  Kindergarten students will begin full time on September 16.


The first PAC meeting of the school year is scheduled for September 16 at 7:00 PM.  All parents are a part of the PAC and we encourage you to attend to learn how you can help further support our school.

Scholastic book fair and meet the teacher

Our Scholastic book fair will begin on Sept 29 and our meet the teacher event will take place on Sept 30 at 6:30.  More information on these events will be sent home early in the school year.

Missoula Children’s Theatre

This year, our PAC is sponsoring Missoula Children’s Theatre.  This is an opportunity for our students to audition for a musical that will be produced and performed during the course of one week!  Auditions will be on Monday, Sept 21 and the performances will be on Friday evening, Sept 25 and Saturday afternoon, Sept 26.  Rehearsals take place after school and evenings during the week.  More information will be sent home early in the school year with details about the auditions, cost, and the production.
